Equine Assisted Activities and Traditional Counseling

____________________________________________________________________________________

Low confidence levels cause a greater inability to self-advocate or feel empowered. Interactions with the horses improves the confidence levels, allowing a greater ability of empowerment. Many marginalized individuals as well as students mainstreamed, tend to feel isolated, which causes a deficit in social skills, anxiety and depression. By working to interact with the horses in groundwork relationships can be improved, including but not limited to communication, leadership, the ability to disagree within socially acceptable norms, cooperation and verbally or nonverbally sharing solutions to problems.

Interactions with the horses improves confidence, relationships, and behaviors.
